(Harrison, Oh.) - June 2 marks the 25th anniversary of a day in history that residents of Bright and Harrison may never forget. On June 2, 1990, a large F4 tornado touched down west of Bright, where it destroyed about 50 homes. The vortex continued to tear down the hill and across the Whitewater River into Harrison. More than 800 homes, schools, and businesses were damaged or destroyed. The twister continued northeast into Butler and Warren counties in Ohio. In all 37 people were injured. From 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., an event at the Skyline Chili restaurant on Harrison Avenue will include photo displays from the storm, tornado preparation tutorials, adoptable pets, and a police versus firemen coney-eating contest. The public is welcome.
