(Batesville, Ind.) – Southeast Indiana has welcomed its first baby of 2012.
Officials at Margaret Mary Community Hospital in Batesville say little Beth Ann Schwartz became the first newborn delivered in the new year Tuesday morning at 7:44 a.m.
Beth Ann is the daughter of John and Cheryl Schwartz, of Milroy, Indiana.
The child was delivered by Dr. Thomas Brown. She weighed 6 lbs., 12.2 ounces and is 19.5 inches long.
Beth was due to be born on December 29, but came almost one week late to become the first baby born in southeast Indiana this year.
