By Indiana Department of Transportation, news release

An INDOT contractor will replace a culvert in Switzerland County starting in April.

(Switzerland County, Ind.) - Indiana Department of Transportation officials met with contractor representatives January 22 at Seymour District offices to review plans for removing and replacing a small structure under State Road 250 in Cotton Township.

OLCO Inc of Batesville is the state’s contractor for this $220,263 project. Its crews are scheduled to begin excavation work in April—requiring the closure of S.R. 250 at the worksite located five miles east of S.R. 129 in northwest Switzerland County.

A state highway detour will utilize S.R. 56 and S.R. 129.

During the closure, OLCO crews will remove the existing S.R. 250 structure and replace it with a precast 4-sided reinforced concrete box culvert. The new installation will have a 6-foot span and 4-foot rise.  It will measure 48 feet in length.

S.R. 250 has a traffic count of 1,050 vehicles per day.
