(Moores Hill, Ind.) - It’s a six year prison sentence for a man who barged into another man’s home, beat him, and threatened his life.

Tony Campos and his sister, Lisa Campos, went to an acquaintance’s home on Old State Road 350 in Moores Hill in June 12, 2011. They had gotten into an argument with that person at an Aurora bar earlier in the evening.

Tony Campos, 43, allegedly beat the man and held a gun to his chin, investigators said in their charging affidavit report. He also threatened other people in the home by pointing the gun at them.

Last June, Tony Campos reached a plea deal with prosecutors in Dearborn County that convicted him on a charge of Battery with a Deadly Weapon (Class C felony). Three other felony charges against him were dropped in exchange for the plea.

On September 11, Dearborn Circuit Court Judge James D. Humphrey sentenced Campos to six years in prison. He was given credit for 411 days, extended to 822 days thanks to Indiana’s good time rule, for time served in jail since his arrest last year. None of the prison time was suspended to probation.

The Indiana Department of Corrections offender locater lists Campos’ projected release date as July 26, 2014.

Humphrey also ordered Campos to have no contact with any of the victims in the attack. The judge also noted that Campos owes more than $20,000 in unpaid child support.

Lisa Campos, 32, received a three year sentence in July for her role in the attack. She pleaded guilty to a felony charge of Residential Entry.
