(Rising Sun, Ind.) - The Ohio County Community Foundation is now accepting applications for the 2025 Future Generations Scholarship.

Applications are available online at www.occfrisingsun.com. Applications may be accessed by clicking on scholarships at the top of the page and then selecting Future Generations from the drop-down menu. The deadline for the Future Generations Scholarship application is Friday, May 30, 2025 at 3:00 p.m.

The Future Generations Scholarship is available to 2006 and later Rising Sun High School graduates who are attending a 4-year college and that meet the current year scholarship criteria. This year, the scholarship amount is $2,000 and will be paid over two semesters at $1,000 a semester.

Current year Rising Sun High School Seniors applying for this scholarship should submit all of their required Community Appreciation Service Hour Reporting forms to the Foundation office by Friday, May 23rd, so that the forms can be reviewed for eligibility and correct signatures. This early submission of hours will allow time for corrections if needed, before the application deadline. You will need to know the number of hours on file at the Foundation in order to complete the application. Seniors will also be required to upload their final high school transcript and college acceptance letter/proof of enrollment to the application.

Those applying for the scholarship for the first time, that are not current year Seniors will be required to submit an application with a copy of their most recent transcript showing a cumulative GPA and a college acceptance letter/ proof of enrollment uploaded to it. You will need to contact the Foundation to obtain the number of community service hours that you completed before your high school graduation, if you do not have them on record.

Renewal applicants must submit their application with a copy of their transcript showing their cumulative GPA for the Spring Semester. Applicants may receive this scholarship up to 5 times. You must fill out a new application every year to be considered for this scholarship.

If you have any questions concerning the Future Generations Scholarship or need to verify the number of community service hours that you have completed, please contact Christy Elbright at 812-438-9401 or by e-mail at celbright@occfrisingsun.com.
