(Whitewater Township, Oh.) – Law enforcement service changes are coming to Whitewater Township.
Hamilton County Sheriff Charmaine McGuffey announced this week that the Sheriff’s Office will no longer provide routine patrols, traffic enforcement, or response to non-emergency calls in Whitewater Township beginning January 1, 2027.
Deputies will continue to respond to 911 emergencies such as immediate threats to safety, death investigations, vehicle crashes involving injuries, suspected impaired drivers, disabled vehicles creating hazardous conditions, and other serious situations.
The changes come amid ongoing negotiations over a formal agreement for police protection.
Currently, Whitewater Township is the only jurisdiction in Hamilton County that does not have a formal contract for police services.
