Hazel Badinghaus harvested in Guilford

Saturday morning, September 26th, was a morning we will never forget. Several bucks were coming and going quickly that morning, but one buck stayed in sight long enough to give Hazel the opportunity she had been waiting for. She got on him and followed him with her gun, staying steady as he moved through the woods. While she was still on him, Dad gave a grunt to stop the buck, and Hazel made the perfect shot to fulfill a dream she has had since she was little—harvesting her very first deer. To say we are proud is an understatement. Watching the excitement on her face after the shot was something we will never forget, and now she is just as excited to put that first deer in the freezer and eat the meat she worked so hard to harvest. What a special morning and a memory our family will cherish forever.

Harvested on October 3rd in Guilford, Indiana

With a questionable wind, this big guy came walking straight toward me, and I was sure I was about to get busted. Thankfully, he turned back toward the woods to feed on acorns and gave me the opportunity to make the shot. As I made the shot he started to turn and the arrow ended up traveling diagonally through his body and exiting out of his back hip! So thankful for this moment and everything that went into making it happen!
