Boone County Sheriff’s deputies say the woman was walking Wednesday evening at Central Park and Arboretum on Camp Ernst Road in Union. That’s when she was allegedly approached by a man with a knife who threatened to kill her.

The woman ran into Camp Ernst Road and flagged down a driver, who called 911.

Police set up a perimeter and caught Derrick Clifton standing in a tree line. He met the woman’s description and had the knife on him.
