Madison Man Arrested After Meth Bust At L'Burg Apartment

Police say the amount of methamphetamine located was consistent with dealing & much greater than is typically possessed for person use.

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - A Madison man is facing multiple felony drug charges after a methamphetamine bust in Lawrenceburg. 

Scott A. Sillett, 52, was arrested on August 20 and charged with Possession with Intent to Deliver Methamphetamine (Level 2 Felony), Possession of Meth with Enhancing Circumstances (Level 4 Felony), Maintaining a Common Nuisance (Level 6 Felony), Possession of a Legend Drug (Level 6 Felony) and Possession of Paraphernalia (Class C Misdemeanor). 

Lawrenceburg Police, along with Indiana State Troopers, went to Sillett's residence on the 300 block of Arch Street following multiple complaints of illegal drug activity at his apartment. 

The information provided to police was that multiple persons were arriving and leaving the apartment and staying for short periods of time. Additional information was that Sillett was dealing methamphetamine. 

An ISP Trooper made first contact with Sillett at his residence on August 20 around 11:00 p.m. Inside the apartment, Sillett advised that he had friends that visited him and smoked marijuana inside the apartment. He also told police there may be paraphernalia present in the apartment. 

At that time, Lawrenceburg Police were granted permission to enter the residence. While Sillett was attempting to retrieve paraphernalia, a crystal substance consistent with methamphetamine was allegedly located on a table in the living room. 

Police requested to search the residence, to which Sillett denied. A search warrant was obtained and multiple items were seized, including a plastic bag containing approximately 8 grams of methamphetamine, a glass methamphetamine pipe, plastic baggies and containers containing various pills and tablets, multiple digital scales, and other drug paraphernalia. 

Sillett was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Dearborn County Law Enforcement Center, where he remains held awaiting his initial appearance in Dearborn County Court. 

Police say the amount of methamphetamine found in Sillett's apartment is consistent with dealing and is much greater than is typically possessed for personal use. The proximity of his apartment to the Arch Street Community Public Park (430 feet) is an enhancing circumstance.
