(Brookville, Ind.) - The Franklin County Sheriff’s Department is currently investigating several vehicle thefts in southeastern Franklin County.
Investigators believe the stolen vehicles had been left unlocked with the keys inside.
The Franklin County Sheriff's Department is urging residents to lock your vehicles, never leave your keys inside your vehicle, remove or secure valuables that are visible, and lock your home and outbuildings.
"Criminals often look for easy opportunities. Taking a few extra seconds to secure your vehicle and home can go a long way toward preventing theft. Don’t be an easy target," reads a statement from The Franklin County Sheriff's Department.
