If you were affected by flooding earlier this year and still need assistance, help is on the way.

(Aurora, Ind.) – Additional assistance is on the way for area residents affected by flooding this past February and March.
The Federal Emergency Management Agency and Indiana Department of Homeland Security has announced that a Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) will open Tuesday, June 12 at the Aurora Lions Club on Second Street in downtown Aurora.
Disaster Recovery Centers offer in-person support to individuals and business owners. Recovery specialists from FEMA, the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) and the state of Indiana will be available to provide assistance to anyone filling out their applications or updating their status.
Some of the services may include:
- Guidance regarding disaster recovery
- Clarification of any written correspondence received
- Housing Assistance and Rental Resource information
- Answers to questions, resolution to problems and referrals to agencies that may provide further assistance
- Status of applications being processed by FEMA
- SBA program information if there is a SBA Representative at the Disaster Recovery Center site
- Crisis Counseling Program
- Disaster Legal Services
- Disaster Unemployment
- Funeral Assistance - Individuals and Households Program
The DRC will operate from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
