(Boone County, Ky.) - Two Boone County Schools administrators have been named state Administrators of the Year.
The honors were recently announced by the Kentucky Association of School Administrators. Conner High School principal Tim Hitzfield and Deputy Superintendent Karen Cheser received the awards, the Kentucky Enquirer reports.
Hitzfield, a 1979 Conner graduate, has been principal of his alma mater since 2007.
“Leaders inspire people to do their best work, and that is definitely true about Tim Hitzfield. His biggest contribution is his ability to change the culture of Conner High School,” Assistant Principal Jason Shearer wrote in his nomination of Hitzfield for the award.
Hitzfield and Cheser aren’t the first Boone County Schools leaders to earn the association’s recognition for their work. Boone County Superintendent Randy Poe was named the 2013 KASA Superintendent of the Year last November.
