Boone Judge-Exec Enter Congressional Race

Gary Moore

(Boone County, Ky.) - The latest person to enter the race for northern Kentucky congressman is Boone County’s own Judge-Executive Gary Moore.

The Republican announced Tuesday he will seek to fill the void being left by Fourth District congressman Geoff Davis (R-Hebron).

Davis,a Hebron resident, announced last week he will not seek re-election in 2012.

“Congressman Davis has served our district, our state and our country well and like many others I’m sorry to see him go,” Moore said in a news release.

“That said, I’m excited at the opportunity to represent the citizens of the Fourth District. I’m looking forward to talking to voters about how my conservative values and real-world experience will serve them well in Washington,” he added.

Moore is in his fourth term as Boone County Judge-Executive.

Moore is the second person to announce their Fourth District intentions. State Representative Alecia Webb-Edington (R-Covington), the Fourth District GOP chairperson, has also said she will run.
