AEP Lawrenceburg Earns Safety Award

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - Rep. Jud McMillin (R-Brookville) is proud to recognize a local Lawrenceburg company, Tanner’s Creek Plant AEP/Michigan Power, for receiving the Governor’s Workplace Safety Award. The company was an award recipient in two categories, Education and Outreach – Internal and Education and Outreach - External.

 

“We are lucky to have such a great company in our community that puts workplace safety first,” said Rep. McMillin. “Workplace safety is of upmost importance and Tanner’s Creek Plant/Michigan Power puts the health and safety of their employees first.”

 

Tanner’s Creek Plant AEP/ Michigan Power will be presented their award at the state's annual Safety and Health Conference and Exposition during the Governor's Workplace Safety Awards Luncheon on March 14, 2012.

 

“This company epitomizes what forward thinking and responsiveness can accomplish for workplace safety,” said Rep. McMillin. “I commend Tanner Creek Plant AEP/ Michigan Power for this tremendous achievement.”

 

This award is given as a result of a partnership between the Indiana Department of Labor, on behalf of Governor Mitch Daniels, the Indiana Chamber of Commerce and the Central Indiana Chapter of the American Society of Safety Engineers. The award recognizes companies who implement best practices in eliminating workplace injuries and illnesses. The award salutes those organizations for which safety and health have been made a top priority.
