Lawrenceburg Wins EIAC Title in Five-Set Thriller vs. Batesville

The Tigers went 7-0 in EIAC play.

 

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - Lawrenceburg looked like they were going to cruise to an EIAC championship on Thursday night, but the Batesville Bulldogs did not make it easy in the end. 

The Tigers won the first two sets (25-21, 25-22) but Batesville took the next two (25-18, 25-18) to force a fifth and decisive set. Lawrenceburg would take the final set 19-17, claiming an outright EIAC championship. 

Sophomore Madelyn Ellis led the way with 26 kills. Other key players included Zoe Roudebush with 42 assists, Grayson Messer with 18 digs, Addi Mettler with five blocks and Tatum Disch with five aces. 

Lawrenceburg is currently 21-5 overall record, including 7-0 in the EIAC. 

The Tigers will play at the Union County Invite this Saturday before heading into postseason play.
