Several area teams will look to punch their ticket to sectional title matches on Thursday night

(Southeast Indiana) - The IHSAA Boys Soccer State Tournament continued on Wednesday night with first round action.
In Class 3A, the East Central Trojans advanced with a 6-0 win over Franklin Community. Jackson Engel led the way with a hat trick. Jensen Isadore added two goals, and Theo Carballo found the back of the net once.
Goals were assisted by Jaxon Cole (2), Kohen Black and Collin Verme.
The host Trojans (11-5-1) will take on Columbus East (7-4-5) in the semifinals after the Olympians knocked out Whiteland with a 2-0 win.
The semifinal matchup is scheduled for 8:00 PM Thursday. It is a rematch from August 18 when the Trojans and Olympians drew 1-1.
The winner will play Center Grove (6-6-4) or Columbus North (8-3-4) on Saturday at 7:00 PM.
