(Franklin County, Ind.) – A Connersville man who has been on the run for over a month has been apprehended.
Steven T. Lakes, 46, was arrested this week in Texas on several felony warrants out of Indiana.
Lakes had been on the run since November 8 when he fled from police in a stolen Union County Sheriff’s vehicle.
He is awaiting extradition back to Indiana where he faces felony charges in Franklin and Union counties.
Lakes is charged with Dealing Methamphetamine (Level 3 Felony), Possession of Methamphetamine (Level 5 Felony), Battery with Bodily Injury to a Public Safety Official (Level 5 Felony) and Resisting Law Enforcement (Level 6 Felony).
If convicted of a level 3 felony, Lakes could face up to 16 years in prison and up to $10,000 in fines.
