(Indianapolis, Ind.) - A few southeastern Indiana businesses are being awarded for their longevity and service to employees, customers and Indiana communities.

Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb handed out the Governor’s Century and Half-Century Business Awards on Thursday, March 21.

The Century Award went to Hertel’s Shoe Store in Batesville, which was founded in 1888.

Half-Century Awards went to the Lawrenceburg Veterinary Clinic and Batesville-based New Horizons Rehabilitation.

"Today we honor businesses that have helped lay a foundation for economic success in Indiana, maintaining operations for more than 50 to 100 years and creating long-term career opportunities for Hoosiers," Holcomb said at the Statehouse ceremony. "Through a strong dedication to their employees, their businesses and their communities, these companies exemplify the pioneering spirit and perseverance that will push our state forward for years to come."
