The Gibson Theatre and Damm Theatre will host short films from 15 incredibly talented filmmakers.

(Ripley County, Ind.) - The red carpet is rolling out and the popcorn is popping because the Ripley County Film Fest is almost here! The Gibson Theatre in Batesville and the Damm Theatre in Osgood, will come alive with original short films from 15 incredibly talented filmmakers from June 2nd to June 7th. Thanks to a grant from the Indiana Arts Commission, Ripley Youth Outreach was able to bring the power of filmmaking to Ripley County.

Join us each evening at 6:30p.m. to enjoy original short films, followed by a fan-favorite Hollywood movie. Whether you’re into action, drama, comedy, or something the whole family can enjoy, there’s a night for you. It all wraps up with a can’t-miss Awards Night on Saturday, June 7, where crowd favorites and standout films will be celebrated. Plus, there will be a special screening of entries from the 24-Hour Film Challenge. Admission is FREE, and concessions will be available for purchase.

This year’s short film lineup includes short films by: Tristan Bennett, Brady Domingo, Walt Enneking, Luca Floris, Conor Geary, Kyle Gelfand, Joe Herbert, Augustus Kellerman, Henry Laymon, Grace Mills, Jacob Mills, Lucy Grace Meyer, Tyler Miller, Baxter McCory, Caleb Robbins, Kira Wilson. Whether it’s your neighbor, a student you once taught, or someone you’ve never met, these stories will surprise you, inspire you, and leave you in awe.

The Ripley County Film Fest will be a celebration of local storytelling, community spirit, and the importance of supporting the arts. You’ll be watching original short films on the same screens that generations before you have enjoyed, inside two of our area’s last remaining single-screen theaters. Bring your friends, your family, and your love for great storytelling. This is an event you don’t want to miss!

“The arts are a core focus of the Ripley County Community Foundation. We believe art unites people, building community through shared experiences. We launched the Ripley County Film Fest in recognizing that the Damm Theatre and the Gibson Theatre are anchors in our community that provide us with a unique opportunity to deepen and expand local arts and cultural programing to include filmmaking,” said Amy Streator, Executive Director of the Ripley County Community
