INDIANAPOLIS - Approximately 60 members of 4-H from across the state attended the annual 4-H Day at the Statehouse on February 10.
This event offered youth in grades 7-12 a unique opportunity to engage in civic education, tour the Statehouse, meet with legislators, and learn firsthand about the legislative process. Participants served as student legislative pages or took part in a comprehensive civic education program, which included tours of the historic Indiana Statehouse and sessions focused on civic engagement and leadership.
Elizabeth "Lizzie" Griffin, a dedicated member of Dearborn County 4-H, was selected to participate as a legislative page, fully immersing herself in the experience. Lizzie aspires to a future career in politics, and 4-H Day at the Statehouse serves as a pivotal first step toward realizing that goal. Lizzie was selected to be interviewed by Indianapolis Channel 6 TV station, and consequently able to share her passion regarding impact of the day’s events.
Through these experiences, 4-H is preparing her to be “Beyond Ready” for her future professional endeavors.
Lizzie is the daughter of Leslie Griffin and Thomas Allen. She is an active member of both the Manchester Rowdies 4-H Club and the Dearborn County Jr. Leaders.
