Indiana's Top Schools for Athletes: East Central Makes Top 25

INDIANAPOLIS - USA Today has named their Top 25 best Indiana high schools for athletes.

East Central High School made the list for a second year in a row, ranking 17th overall.  

In 2025, East Central ranked 12th on the list. 

The list was compiled based on the number of state championships, student participation in athletics, and the number of sports offered at each school and data from the U.S. Department of Education. 

The top school on the list is Indianapolis Cathedral. Reitz Memorial High School in Evansville and Indianapolis Bishop Chatard rounded out the top three.
