(Hebron, Ky.) – The 2026 KHSAA Boys Wrestling State Championship concluded Friday at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington.
Conner High School senior Clayton Badida took home the state championship in the 126-pound weight class.
Badida (53-5) won his first-round contest by fall (0:52). He won by fall again in the second round (1:26). In the quarterfinals, Badida faced Union County’s Jacob Ramsey. The match went down to the wire, with Badida advancing by decision (8-6).
Badida dominated in the semi-finals, winning 12-0 over Boyle County's Ethan Masters.
In the 126-pound championship match, Badida wrestled Meade County's Peyton Vowels, winning the match 2-1. His post-win interview can be seen at (8) Video | Facebook.
Clayton is the grandson of Wayne Badida, the founder of Conner High School’s wrestling program.
