By Mike Perleberg (Milan, Ind.) - Milan Community Schools is looking within for the district’s next superintendent. Jane Rogers has been announced as the leading candidate for the superintendent job, the Versailles Republican newspaper reports. Rogers has been the principal at Milan Elementary School for 13 years. A public hearing on the proposed contract for Rogers is set for November 7. The school board could formally vote to approve the contract on November 14. Rogers would replace outgoing superintendent Paul Ketcham, who was recently tapped to be Batesville Community Schools’ new superintendent starting January 1, 2017. Jane is the daughter of longtime Versailles and South Ripley Community Schools educators Gus and Mary Margaret Moorhead. Her brother, Rob Moorhead, is the current superintendent of South Ripley Schools.
