Plane Crash Victims' Funeral Friday

(Versailles, Ind.) – A husband and wife who died in a small plane crash last weekend will be laid to rest Friday.

 

Greg and Candy Wehr, both 55, were killed when their 1968 Cessna went down in a field in rural Jennings County on Saturday evening, January 21. They were returning home from visiting one of their three grown daughters in the Chicago area.

 

The couple’s visitation will be Thursday, January 26 from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Versailles Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the church.

 

Memorial contributions may be given to the Wehr Scholarship Fund in care of Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home.

 

Greg and Candy were married for 33 years.  They were both members of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Olean.

 

Greg Wehr was a local farmer. He was a member of the Versailles Lions Club and on Southeast Indiana REMC’s Board of Directors for 15 years.

 

Candy was a retired teacher from South Ripley Community Schools. She was currently a national consultant for Wisconsin-based Renaissance Learning.

 

The cause of the deadly plane crash remains under investigation by the Federal Aviation Administration.
