Ohio Co. Historical Society To Host Quilt Show During Navy Bean Festival

A great addition to an already popular event in Rising Sun.

(Rising Sun, Ind.) - The Ohio County Historical Society, Inc. will host a Quilt Exhibit in conjunction with the annual Navy Bean Fall Festival. The event takes place inside Heritage Hall on Friday and Saturday, October 11-12, 2019 from noon-6:00 p.m.

Heritage Hall is located at 214 Main Street in downtown Rising Sun.

The exhibit will feature a selection of quilts constructed in the mid-1920s and 1930s. All pieces are from the Young family who were residents of both Ohio and Switzerland Counties.

Co-hosted by the Sunshine Stitchers of Rising Sun, members will be on hand to share their love of quilting with locals and guests. Items will be available for sale as a fundraiser. A free will donation is requested at the door.

Members of the Historical Society will man an information/membership station on site. Attendees are encouraged to visit the Rising Sun Historical Museum while in town. A short walk from Heritage Hall, the Museum is located at 212 S. Walnut Street.

The exhibit is being held in memory of Chandra Mattingly, a supportive member of the Ohio County Historical Society and a dear friend to the Rising Sun community.
