(Burlington, Ky.) - A Burlington man has been arrested following a report of sexual abuse.

Michael Howard, 36, was taken into custody on Thursday and charged with Sexual Abuse 1st Degree (40 counts) and Sodomy 3rd Degree (40 counts).

The Boone County Sheriff's Office received a report on December 27 from the victim, who was a minor when the alleged abuse began. Detectives say the victim started working for Howard in the fall of 2019.

The following spring, Howard allegedly began sending messages of a sexual nature to the then 15-year-old victim. That same year, the sexual abuse and sodomy allegedly began and continued on multiple occasions of the next four years.

Howards remains lodged at the Boone County Jail and is currently held on a $250,000 bond.
