(Burlington, Ky.) - One person was killed in a motorcycle accident on Sunday evening in Florence.

Boone County Sheriff's deputies responded to the crash around 5:29 p.m. at the intersection of Pleasant Valley Road and Oakbrook Drive.

Deputies say a 2005 Yamaha motorcycle, operated by Stanley Crawley, 22, of Burlington, was traveling northbound on Pleasant Valley Road when he failed to negotiate a curve between Oakbrook Drive and Camp Ernst Road.

Crawley's motorcycle then struck the concrete curbing causing him to go airborne. He was ejected from the vehicle and struck a guardrail.

Lifesaving measures were attempted on scene by responding deputies and the Burlington Fire Department, but Crawley was pronounced deceased at the scene.

According to the Boone County Sheriff's Office, speed appears to be a factor in the crash. Crawley was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
