Manchester Township Fire & Rescue to Launch Mobile Integrated Health Program

A patient-centered model of care delivered in a patient's home or mobile environment.

(Manchester, Ind.) - Manchester Township Fire and Rescue has announced plans to launch a Mobile Integrated Health (MIH) program in June 2026.

The agency will be the first in Dearborn County to implement such a program, bringing expanded healthcare services directly into the community.

Mobile Integrated health is a patient-centered model of care delivered in a patient's home or mobile environment. This program is designed to bridge the gap between pre-hospital care, emergency departments, and primary care providers by offering proactive, in-home medical support focused on prevention, education, and long-term patient outcomes.

Through the program, Manchester Township Fire and Rescue will provide services including chronic disease management, post-discharge and post-refusal follow-up visits, prescription and medication management, and general health assessments. Providers will also assist with identifying fall risks, evaluating living conditions, and helping patients navigate available healthcare and community resources.

The MIH team will be composed of experienced EMTs, AEMTs, and Paramedics.

Manchester Township Fire and Rescue will work closely with the Dearborn County Health Department to ensure patients have access to additional resource, such as fall prevention kits, educational materials, and connecting patients with services such as mental health support, substance use resources, and other community-based programs.

As the program is implemented, services will initially focus on Manchester Township residents as part of the pilot phase. The program could expand throughout Dearborn County in the future.
