(St. Leon, Ind.) - East Central FCCLA members Olivia Lyness, Ellie Wolf, and Annabelle Edmonds have received a $2,000 Operation Round Up Grant from Southeastern Indiana REMC.
The funding will support the Sunman Open Door Food Pantry.
East Central FCCLA and FFA members officially launched the food pantry at Sunman Community Park last October. It is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to provide food, hygiene products, and essential supplies for anyone in need.
"These students are helping make a difference in our community by working to expand the resources available through the pantry. The grant funding will help provide much-needed food, household cleaning supplies, and other essential items for individuals and families in the Sunman community. We are incredibly grateful to Southeastern Indiana REMC and Operation Round Up for investing in our students and supporting their commitment to serving others," reads at statement from East Central FCCLA.
