(St. Leon, Ind.) - East Central's girls basketball team will be tested early in the 2026-27 season.
The Lady Trojans will compete at this year's Sneakers for Santa event at Brownsburg High School. The annual event some of the top boys and girls basketball programs throughout the state.
East Central will play Homestead as part of the six-game girls event on Saturday, November 21. Tip-off is scheduled for 3:00 PM.
"We have tried to get into this in the past, but it hasn't worked out," said Head Coach Kevin Moore. "It's a great accomplishment for our program, not just myself, but the coaches and players current and past that have put in the sweat equity, the time and the passion."
East Central went 21-4 last season and captured an EIAC championship. They will be taking on a Homestead team that finished 24-3 last season.
"To be playing in a well-respected event, it's certainly a feather in the cap of our program. It is something we certainly don't take lightly," said Moore.

- Homestead vs. East Central - 3:00 PM
- Crown Point vs. Franklin Central - 5:00 PM
- Eastern Hancock vs. Plainfield - 6:30 PM
- Fort Wayne Snider vs. Pendleton Heights - 8:00 PM
