(Harrison, Oh.) - Over the past two days, two vehicles and other belongings have been stolen from unlocked vehicles, according to the Harrison Police Department.
The thefts occurred in the Meadows and northern neighborhoods.
Along with the vehicle thefts, police say a firearm, credit cards, laptop and golf clubs were taken from unlocked vehicles.
Residents are reminded to
- Lock your vehicle every time, even when parked at home.
- Never leave your keys or key fob inside an unlocked vehicle.
- If you keep a firearm in your vehicle, make sure it is properly secured and locked.
- Remove valuables, electronics and personal items from your vehicle when possible.
"Many vehicle break-ins and thefts are crimes of opportunity. Taking a few extra seconds to lock your vehicle and secure your belongings can make a difference," reads a statement from Harrison Police.
