Today is the 12th anniversary of Lauren Hill's memorable basket at the Cintas Center

CINCINNATI - On this day 12 years ago, Lauren Hill accomplished her dream and goal of playing college basketball.
Despite being diagnosed with terminal brain cancer during her senior year at Lawrenceburg High School, Hill persevered and went on to join the Mount St. Joseph University basketball team.
On November 2, 2014, Hill stepped onto the court at Xavier University's Cintas Center, where she made a layup in front of 10,000 fans.
The game was originally scheduled to be played at Hiram College and was first moved to Mount St. Joseph University, so Hill would not have to travel over 300 miles to Hiram. Due to public interest the game ended up being played at Xavier University.
Hill ended up playing in four games, making five layups for 10 points.
She passed away on April 10, 2015.
To this day, Lauren's Fight for Cure continues to raise funds to support and fund research grants.
