(Versailles, Ind.) - Special Olympics Indiana’s Polar Plunge returns to Versailles State Park as participants dare to get Ice Cold and Hoosier Bold.
This bucket-list event challenges individuals and teams to make a difference to the lives of more than 20,000 children and adults with intellectual disabilities across the state by taking an icy dip to demonstrate their commitment to the cause. More than 3,600 Plungers raised more than $1 million last year.
The Polar Plunge at Versailles State Park is scheduled for Saturday, February 13, 2027. The Versailles Plunge is one of thirty Plunges that will take place from January through March across the state. Before and after the Versailles Plunge, warm up inside the huge heated festival tent and enjoy the Lions Club Food Court, Razzle Dazzle Basket Raffle, the Polar Plunge Coffee House, music, and plenty of Polar Plunge fun. The Versailles Plunge also offers a 3K or 5K run/walk the morning of the Plunge. Admission for spectators is free, and media members are welcome.
As Special Olympics Indiana’s signature fundraising series, participants must raise at least $125 for the chance to take the plunge. For those who reach higher fundraising levels, additional incentive prizes are available.
Additionally, the Super Plunger program recognizes the bravest souls with the warmest hearts. Those who raise $4,000 or more receive VIP treatment and unique rewards.
All funds raised during Polar Plunge help ensure that an ever-growing number of children and adults with intellectual disabilities can participate in the state’s sports, health, education and leadership programs at no cost. To date, the Polar Plunge has generated more than $20 million for Special Olympics Indiana.
