(Brookville, Ind.) - Jesse Meckley will not go to trial after pleading guilty to child molestation charges.

Meckley was arrested in Franklin County in September 2020 and charged with three counts of Child Molesting, four counts of Sexual Misconduct with a Minor, Rape, and Sexual Battery.

Last week, he pleaded guilty to one count of Child Molesting and two counts of Sexual Misconduct with a Minor. In exchange for his plea, the remaining charges were dismissed.

Meckley was initially supposed to go to trial in May of 2021, but the trial was rescheduled for August. Meckley failed to appear in court just weeks before the trial and fled the area. He remained at-large until he was taken back into custody in December of 2021.

With his guilty plea last week, the trial by jury set for August 15 is vacated.

Meckley will be sentenced August 31.
