(Vevay, Ind.) - Over 1,000 visitors came to the Town of Vevay on Sunday to take part in a fun event for a great cause.
Five-dollar rides were offered throughout the day on the Spirit of Cincinnati with all proceeds going to INcompass Healthcare Switzerland County Food Bank.
According to Discover Vevay, Switzerland County, the host of the event, attendees contributed over $5,000 to the community cause.
The Switzerland County Food Pantry is open every Thursday from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM and operates on a first-come, first-served basis until the week’s available items are distributed. Each week’s offerings vary based on donations, purchases, pantry inventory, and shipments from the Freestore Foodbank, but typically include a protein or meat, a vegetable, and a starch such as rice, potatoes, or noodles.
Volunteers work in advance to pre-pack food based on a weekly list to help streamline distribution.
