Closure Planned on State Road 1 in Dover

The project is slated to start on or after June 1.

(Dover, Ind.) - Indiana Department of Transportation contractor 5 Star Company, Inc. is scheduled to close a portion of State Road 1 on or after Monday, June 1, to complete a pipe replacement project in Dover.

The closure will take place just north of Wolf Creek Road. S.R. 1 is expected to reopen in early July, weather permitting. During the closure, motorists should use the official detour route which follows U.S. 50 to I-275 to I-74 back to S.R. 1.

Construction signage will be placed in the area prior to the start of the closure.

This project is part of a contract awarded to 5 Star in August 2025. INDOT reminds drivers to slow down, use extra caution, and avoid distractions when traveling in and near work zones.

All work is weather dependent and schedules are subject to change.
