Longtime Swiss Wine Festival President, Former Vevay Councilman Kirk Works Dies

(Vevay, Ind.) - A man who was a big part of the Vevay community has died. Kirk Works died Wednesday at Kings Daughters Hospital in Madison. He was 53 and had been battling cancer. Works was president of the Swiss Wine Festival for 23 years. He once served a term on Vevay Town Council. Last month, the town renamed a street at Paul Ogle Riverfront Park, where the Swiss Wine Festival is held, to Kirk Works Way as a show of the town’s appreciation of his many years of community service. Plans for visitation and funeral services will be announced soon by Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home in Vevay.
