(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - Kaylie Showalter, first-grade teacher at Lawrenceburg Primary School, has been named one of 10 nationwide winners in Simple Modern's third-annual Stock Your School campaign
As one of this year's national winners, Lawrenceburg Primary School will receive nearly $20,000 in classroom grants and school-wide supplies, including a $1,000 classroom grant, $500 to fulfill Showalter's classroom wish list, 500 Simple Modern reusable water bottles for students and 100 Getaway Bags for teachers and staff.
Now in its third year, Stock Your School has grown into one of the nation's largest community-driven teacher appreciation campaigns. Thousands of educators from every state were nominated before communities rallied behind their favorite teachers through public voting.
"One of the most encouraging parts of Stock Your School is watching entire communities rally behind great teachers," said Mike Beckham, Simple Modern co-founder and CEO. "More than 175,000 votes represent parents, students, coworkers, neighbors and friends coming together to celebrate educators who are making a lasting impact on the next generation. Stock Your School is a reminder that when communities come together to support education, teachers win. And when teachers win, so do their students."
"Winning this means more than classroom supplies," Showalter said. "It's an investment in every student and teacher at Lawrenceburg Primary, creating opportunities that will make a lasting difference."
Throughout the campaign, schools organized creative grassroots efforts to encourage voting, with families, PTOs, local businesses and neighbors working together to support educators they believed deserved national recognition.
Showalter was one of just 10 educators selected nationwide, representing schools in seven states and highlighting the impact outstanding teachers have in communities across America.
Stock Your School launched in 2024 and helps Oklahoma City-based Simple Modern invest in education, which advances its mission of giving generously. The company donates at least 10 percent of annual profits and has contributed more than $15 million to organizations serving communities around the world.
