(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – Ivy Tech Community College has partnered with Microsoft and Certiport to offer a free opportunity to become certified on Microsoft technology. Normally offered at a cost of $62.00, the fee has been waived for Ivy Tech students and for the general public.
Certification testing will be offered at the Lawrenceburg Riverfront Campus, 50 Walnut Street, on Monday, April 8th, 2013 from 12:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and on Tuesday, April 9, 2013 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The Microsoft Technology Associate Test is ideal for persons seeking to validate technology skills, especially beneficial when seeking employment or a departmental upgrade.
Developer exams available include Software Development Fundamentals (98-361) (VB), Windows Development Fundamentals (98-362), Web Development Fundamentals (98-363) (VB), dot-NET Fundamentals (98-372) (VB), Gaming Development Fundamentals (98-374) (VB), and HTMLS Application Development Fundamentals (98-375). A database exam, Database Administration Fundamentals, is also offered. IT Pro Exams available are Windows Server Administration Fundamentals (98-365), Networking Fundamentals (98-366), Security Fundamentals (98-367), and windows Operating System Fundamentals (98-349).

Ivy Tech Southeast, which includes the Lawrenceburg, Batesville and Madison campuses, was inaugurated in 1968 to serve Dearborn, Ripley, Jefferson, Ohio and Switzerland Counties as well as the bordering areas of Cincinnati, Ohio and northern Kentucky. Although at the time of its founding it was projected Ivy Tech Southeast enrollment would never exceed 500 students, a total of more than 4,000 students currently attend at the three southeastern Indiana campuses.
