Inspection Starts Monday on Carroll Cropper Bridge

The inspection will require single lane closures on the four-lane bridge.

(Petersburg, Ky.) – A routine bridge inspection is scheduled to begin Monday on the Interstate 275 Carroll Cropper Bridge.

Every two years, the Carroll Cropper Bridge undergoes this routine inspection, with the most recent being in July 2022.

According to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, the inspection will require single lane closures on the four-lane bridge from Monday, July 15 through Wednesday, July 24.

Lane closure restrictions:

  • I-275 eastbound: No closures Monday through Thursday from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Additionally, Friday from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.
  • I-275 westbound: No closures Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 8 a.m. Additionally, Friday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Anticipated lane closure schedule:

  • Monday, July 15 and Tuesday, July 16: I-275 westbound right lane closure
  • Wednesday, July 17 through Friday, July 19: I-275 eastbound right lane closure
  • Saturday, July 20: I-275 eastbound right lane closure. Once work on the eastbound portion is complete, crews will move the right lane closure to I-275 westbound. Closures will be permitted from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Monday, July 22 and Tuesday, July 23: I-275 westbound right lane closure.
  • Wednesday, July 24: I-275 eastbound right lane closure

The inspection is being performed by AECOM. Weather permitting, the overall project has an expected completion date of Wednesday, July 24.
