Harrison HS Student Dies In Crash

Kayla Duerler was the daughter of the pastor at LifeSpring Church in Harrison.

(Harrison, Oh.) - A Harrison High School student died in a car crash in Butler County Wednesday.

Sixteen-year-old Kayla Duerler was riding in a car with her grandparents when they were involved in a collision with a large truck at the intersection of Millville Road and Bunker Hill Woods Road, according to the Butler County Sheriff's Office.

Duerler died in the crash. Her grandparents were hospitalized.

Harrison High School informed classmates of her death Wednesday evening. The school has made counselors available Thursday.

Duerler was the daughter of the pastor Jeff Duerler at LifeSpring Church in Harrison. The church will be open Thursday evening for a vigil for the family.
