Greensburg Man Killed, Brookville Man Seriously Injured in Wrong-Way Crash

(Decatur County, Ind.) – A Greensburg man has been identified as the victim of a fatal crash on Interstate 74.

Indiana State Police – Versailles responded to the crash on Tuesday around 6:00 a.m.

The crash reconstruction team said Daryl Jackson, 66, of Greensburg, was traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes of I-74 near the 140-mile marker in eastern Decatur County when his vehicle collided head on with a westbound vehicle driving by Kaleb Buckler, 22, of Brookville.

Jackson sustained fatal injuries in the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene. Buckler sustained serious injuries and was flown to an Indianapolis area hospital for treatment.

Witnesses reported seeing Jackson’s vehicle traveling the wrong direction for approximately five miles. Officers were attempting to catch up with Jackson’s vehicle when the crash occurred.

Toxicology results are pending.

The crash remains under investigation.
