The closure of the Georgetown Road hill will last approximately 45 days.

(Dearborn County, Ind.) – Dearborn County motorists who use Georgetown Road will need to plan a detour soon.
On Tuesday, Dearborn County Commissioners approved a $245,000 bid for a project to replace a bridge on Georgetown Road, county engineer Todd Listerman tells Eagle Country 99.3.
The bridge to be replaced is located at the bottom of the hill between State Road 1 and Fairway Drive. Listerman says a new 80-foot-long, 9-foot-wide pipe will be installed. The curve in the road at that bridge site will be “softened,” he adds.
The eight-ton weight limit on that bridge will also be removed once construction is completed.
An exact start date for the 45-day project has not been announced yet, but Listerman says it will likely begin this month and last into June. Georgetown Road will be closed to all traffic at the bridge site for the duration.
