By Travis Thayer (Moores Hill, Ind.) - The small-town candidates for the 2015 Dearborn County General Election have been declared. The filing deadline for Moores Hill, St. Leon and West Harrison town candidates was August 3. The 16 candates have been named for the general election. In Moores Hill, there are six Democrats seeking their party’s nomination for three positions. Three of the Moores Hill candidates will be eliminated in a Democratic Party Town Convention prior to August 22 to identify the party nominees for Clerk Treasurer, Council Member District 1 and Council Member District 2. The three nominees will be unopposed in the November election. Council Member, District 3 is the only general election in Dearborn County small-towns. Moores Hill voters will decide between Robert “Bobby” Russell (R) and Mike Emery (D). Candidates in St. Leon and West Harrison will run unopposed. The general election in Dearborn County will also include city elections in Aurora, Greendale and Lawrenceburg on November 3.
