Copper Thieves Took 7,000 lbs From Business

(Walton, Ky.) - Police in Boone County are trying to track down whoever stole approximately 7,000 pounds of copper.

 

Thieves took about 710 feet of the large gauge wire from Eaton Asphalt on Frogtown Road in Walton on either December 23 or January 5. Boone County Sheriff’s Deputies say all that copper wire is worth about $20,000.

 

Investigators say an alert was immediately sent to area locations which buy copper, but no one has reported seeing it.
