(Dearborn County, Ind.) - Charges have been refiled against Cory Lyon.
The 51-year-old from Aurora was arrested September 5, 2024, following a fatal accident involving a pedestrian at the intersection of U.S. 50 and Front Street in Lawrenceburg.
As a result of the crash, Ashley Quicksall, 39, of Lawrenceburg, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The charges against Lyon were dismissed in May, according to public records.
According to a probable cause affidavit released today, Lawrenceburg Police detected an odor of burnt marijuana coming from Lyon's vehicle the night of the crash. A search of the vehicle allegedly uncovered a container containing a plant-like substance, a glass pipe, and a vape pen with no markings.
A toxicology report allegedly showed Lyon to be under the influence of alcohol and THC.
An autopsy of Quicksall was performed at the Hamilton County Crime Lab on September 6, 2024. In addition to the cause of death, which was blunt, impact trauma to the head, neck and torso, a blood draw showed Quicksall was in excess of twice the legal limit of alcohol.
