(Switzerland County, Ind.) - East Enterprise Fire Department was dispatched to Allensville Road on Thursday for a report of a person stuck in a grain bin.

Crews arrived on the scene just after 7:10 p.m.

With assistance from Jeff Craig FD, Moorefield FD, Switzerland County Emergency Response, and some local farmers and relatives, the person was successfully removed from the bin at 9:00 p.m.

The person was freed using a grain bin rescue system and was able to climb out of the bin under his own power.

As seen in the picture above, the yellow pieces are a tube that is placed around the person and then the corn is removed from inside the tube. The blue pieces you see in the corn is to help distribute the weight of the rescuers, so they do not sink into the corn.
