Collaborative Effort Saves Majority of Home, Contents from Fire

Multiple agencies assisted Bright Fire on Wednesday night.

(Bright, Ind.) - Multiple local agencies responded to a structure fire on Wednesday night in Dearborn County. 

Bright Fire and EMS received the initial dispatch for a fire on Murray Road. 

Upon arrival, crews observed heavy smoke venting from the eaves. After confirming the resident was not home, first-arriving crews made forced entry and encountered high heat, heavy smoke, and significant interior obstacles. During the initial attack, the fire vented through the roof and began spreading rapidly through the attic.

Interior crews were joined by Lawrenceburg Fire. Crews from Greendale and Miller-York assisted in pulling ceiling to access and extinguish all remaining fire. 

While the residence sustained some fire and smoke damage, the majority of the home and its contents were saved.
