Carl Pieczonka Announces Candidacy for Dearborn Co. Sheriff

Pieczonka is a longtime member of the Dearborn County Sheriff's' Office.

(Dearborn County, Ind.) - Carl Pieczonka has announced his candidacy for Dearborn County Sheriff. 

Since 2005, Pieczonka has been with the Dearborn County Sheriff's Office. He started as a jail officer before being hired as a Deputy following graduation from the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy in 2007. 

In 2010, Pieczonka was promoted to Detective and was assigned to the Special Crimes Unit. As a Detective his duties included investigating major crimes committed in Dearborn County, such as burglary, robbery, narcotics, homicide, and fraud. He also has been assigned to the Dearborn County Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. 

Last year, Pieczonka was promoted to Chief Deputy, which includes overseeing day-to-day operations of the Sheriff's Office. 

Pieczonka also spends time serving on the Local Emergency Planning Committee, as Chairman of the Dearborn County Emergency 
Management Board, and a Precinct Committeeman for Miller 7. 

"I am deeply honored to have the opportunity to earn your trust and support in the upcoming Republican primary. I humbly ask for your vote on May 5," said Pieczonka.
