As working families in Southern Indiana struggle to make ends meet, the contrast between our current representation and the leadership we need in Indiana’s 9th District is clear.

Cuts to Medicaid and healthcare subsidies supported by Rep. Erin Houchin leave local families one medical emergency from bankruptcy while straining community hospitals. Brad Meyer’s commitment to Healthcare for All addresses this crisis directly, keeping local medical facilities solvent.

Second, Indiana’s minimum wage of $7.25 per hour yields just $15,080 annually. Federal poverty guidelines set the threshold for a family of four at $33,000, requiring at least $15.87 per hour for a 40-hour work week. Earning less than half the poverty threshold is unacceptable; Brad Meyer advocates for a true living wage.

Third, Social Security faces depletion in roughly seven years. Exempting earnings above $184,500 from payroll taxes allows high earners to dodge funding the system. Removing this cap restores solvency without cutting benefits.

In stark contrast to Brad’s accessible approach, Rep. Houchin has not held an open, in-person town hall in over three years. Brad Meyer offers practical solutions and is ready to listen.

Dearborn County residents can ask questions directly at his local town hall on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM at the First Financial Bank & ATM in Aurora. Please attend and bring your neighbors. Transparency is key.
